Drawing Tablets

When I discovered drawing tablets for all three game consoles, my enthusiasm for this blog doubled! I love the idea of bringing drawing back to this increasingly paperless world. Plus, as a burgeoning graphic designer, I wish I had this type of stuff when I was a kid! No longer are video gamers stuck simply consuming the games that others have made; now they can express themselves and share their creations online. This is a big step forward in gaming. They make drawing tablets for the Playstation 3, the Xbox 360,and the Wii.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has a happy new year! It’s 2012, and things have changed a lot since I started teaching in 1996. Cursive is no longer being taught and technology is fully infused into the classroom; I can remember when it was a big deal to use PowerPoint in lesson plans! For this reason, I’m going to keep adding fun, educational games to this site. Video games are here to stay; I truly believe that we can have fun with ones that are intellectually stimulating (versus crazy-violent). As always, I’d love to hear your feedback on these games or any suggestions for games I should add. Enjoy!

Adding More Games

Today I added more games to my site, and much to my suprise, the Xbox has quite a few educational titles! One of my favorites is the National Geographic game, especially since it is multi-player and comes with over 60 minutes of HD video footage. I also learned today that the PS3 has a camera that allows people to make their own movies! I’ll be adding new games and posts often, so be sure to check back. I’d also like your feedback on some of these games; register for my site and leave your comments!

The Start of Instructional Games!

I’ve owned this domain name for over 10 years now. At first I just thought it was catchy; now I see it as a whole new way to learn. So much emphasis has been placed on the gaming industry, yet seldom do we hear about games that are educational and actually fun. This site will be devoted to reviewing games for consoles, PC’s, Macs and the Internet that people actually want to play. If you have a suggestion for a game, feel free to click Contact and let me know. Enjoy!
